   In order to gradually meet the demand for transparent domestic raw materials, VNFOREST plans to issue a certificate of sustainable forest management in Vietnam.

   The administration will work closely with the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) to accelerate the recognition of the national forest certification system and link with the PEFC forest certification. It is reported that the area of the newly-planted forest has so far reached 108,258 ha, accounting for 41.6% of the plan and that of the whole year is expected to hit 260,000 ha, meeting the year’s target. The total export turnover of wood and forestry products for the whole year might reach 15.5 billion US-$, a year-on-year increase of 17%.

   In the first 4 months of 2021, imports of wood materials from the EU reached 319.19 thousand m3, valued at USD 89.95 million, up 39.6% in volume and 58.3% in value over the same period in 2020. Not only is it a major partner in Vietnam's wood exports, the EU is also an important supplier of wood materials to Vietnam.
 
   The EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement officially came into effect, opening up great opportunities for the export of Vietnamese products in general and wood products in particular. Not only is a major partner in Vietnam's wood exports, the EU is also an important supplier of wood materials to Vietnam.

   The EU's wood source has good quality and clear origin, so the EU is considered to play an increasingly important role in supply for wood businesses. Therefore, Vietnamese businesses will also benefit from wood materials imported from the EU. Wood processing enterprises can increase their ability to import raw materials when they are exempt from tax.
