WHAT IS PLYWOOD AND IT'S APPLICATION IN OUR LIVES

What is plywood? What is the application of Plywood industrial wood in human life ? These 2 questions must be an essential that many people are interested in.
This popular material for our house, buildings, vehicles and furniture is a prudent product with exact measurements which does not easy to twist or break with changes in environment. So let's see what is plywood and how they are made and use ?

1. What is plywood ?

Plywood is a type of wood made from many thin, similar-sized wood veneers that are stacked and bonded together with a special glue. Then the veneers are pressed under high pressure and heat, so it is hard and durable. Plywood is used very common in life, especially in the design and production of furniture.

2. How to make plywood ?

Started from a bundle of wood log, then these logs are put into a machine to peel into many thin veneers. Then these veneers are dried under the sun or in a kiln for many hours before being sticked together by a specific glue like Phenolic or WBP (Water Boiling Proof) in order to increase hardness, water resistance and reduce warping and deformation of wood. These veneers are pressed under a high pressure to make it durable and hard.

What is veneer

Steps of making plywood :

Step 1 : Specialized equipment will cut logs from natural wood to specified dimensions to ensure the smoothness and uniformity of the wood. These logs are then peeled off into thin layers to prepare for the gluing process.
Step 2: Normally, the layers of wood will be cut with a size 1270 x 640 mm, then a specialized industrial machine will be used to test the elasticity of the wood.
Step 3 : Veneers are sunning in natural sun ray or can be dried with modern drying technology. The types of wood used usually keep the ideal humidity around 7% or can range from 6 to 8% is perfect.
Step 4: At this step, the wood layers begin to be glued and cold-pressed by machine to initially create the desired plywood panels.
Step 5: The wood after being pressed is cut into rectangular panels and then being sanded to create a smooth and uniform surface.
Step 6 : Continuing to glue the core to stick the the surface of face and back, the wood panels go through heat pressed with pressure for 2-3 times before moving to the final cutting stage to form the plywood that we often use in construction and modern life.

3. Features of plywood

What is plywood
One of the characteristics that every Plywood learner must know is that the number of veneers used for forming plywood must be odd, depending on the thickness of the wood panel, we can use 3, 5, 7 or 9 layers. The reason for this is to create a core layer in the middle of the wood. Then, the two layers of wood outside the core layer will have the same grain direction. The grain direction of the outer layers will be arranged perpendicularly to increase the bearing capacity as well as prevent warping and cracking of the plywood.

4. Plywood application

What is plywood and its applications
What is plywood? What is the application of Plywood industrial wood in human life ?  These 2 questions must be an essential that many people are interested in. Plywood laminate is produced with the proper process for high quality products which is the ideal material to replace the current depleted natural supply nowadays.
In our real life, plywood is widely used a lot in creating concrete molds, building boats, boats... Especially, in the interior design of modern houses, Plywood Industrial is used a lot in the production of furniture such as beds, wardrobes, TV shelves, desks, even sofas. Or can be use in constructions like making the formworks, ship buildings, …

5. Type of Plywood manufactured by Fomex Greenwood

Depends on the technology of using chemincals, plywood currently use 2 main types of glues : Melamine or WBP (Water Boiling Proofing). In particular, Melamine glue has a stronger water-resistance effect, so plywood uing this glue is widely used in construction or moisture-resistance  demand like marine or outside. However, depends on the usage and requirement of our customers, the glue can be propotional modulation. WBP Glue is used in plywood that made for interior décor or packing.
As for the type of that goes for the purpose of using, there are usually the following popular types :

Plywood for packing purpose (Packing plywood)

What is plywood packing plywood

Packing plywood, also known as Packing Plywood with a core, is also used from planted hardwoods such as acacia, eucalyptus, rubber tree... The thickness of the wood varies from 5mm to 25mm. The product is also resistant to moisture and cold water, but for the economy purpose, the plywood can be easily swell and deform when encouter with boiling water.

Plywood for Commercial use (Commercial plywood)

What is plywood commercial plywood
Plywood for Commercial Use with standard dimensions of 1200mm x 2400mm. The wood has a common thickness from 7mm to 25mm and has better moisture resistance than the above type of plywood. The ability to resist the penetration of termites and long time boiling in boiled water but still laminated when stay in wet condition for a long time.

Plywood for Construction (For example: Film faced plywood)

What is plywood film faced plywood
When it comes to construction, workform or coffor can be think first. A lot of work form using film faced plywood to which making 5-6 times reuses due to the hard wood high resistance and smooth of the face. However, to save the cost, one-side fiulm faced or commercial plywood using melamine glue can be a great alternative or single use purpose.

LVL Plywood

What is Plywood LVL
It is basically manufactured on an industrial wood base, many layers of veneer laminated in one direction (parallel), with the adhesion of plywood glues.
LVL plywood is used a lot in the system of making frames, beams of housing structures, in construction, high-rise building projects. Used in the production of wooden furniture: Materials for creating soups for tables, chairs, cabinets...

Birch Plywood

What is plywood

Plywood from Birch meets US standards Carb 2 with non-formaldehyde emission, Birch face and back imported D/E, dimensions of 1200mm x 2400mm. The wood has a common thickness from 7mm to 25mm and has better moisture resistance than the above these types of plywood. The ability to resist the penetration of termites is good and can be used for interior high class décor.

6. Advantages of plywood made in Vietnam

The North of Vietnam has abundant human resources, a large area of specialized plantations for logging, and a typical sunny and dry climate for plywood production, especially hardwood trees such as eucalyptus, acacia wood, ...which has high strength and hardness causing little deformation, ...
With advanced technical lines and many years of experience in production and servicing the plywood market, Fomex Greenwood is proud to be one of your trust-worthy plywood supplier in Vietnam.
